Obituary of Ronald Koropchuk

The family of Ronald Koropchuk of Jedburgh, beloved husband of Bev Koropchuk sadly announce his passing on March 20, 2024. Ron was 76 years of age.

As per Ron's wishes there will be no funeral service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cardiac Unit - Regina General Hospital, c/o Hospitals of Regina Foundation 1874 Scarth St., Regina, SK  S4P 4B3 as gifts of remembrance.

The family of Ron Koropchuk of Jedburgh, beloved husband of Bev, sadly announce his passing on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. He was 76 years of age. As per Ron’s wishes there will be no funeral service.

Ron was born on May 4, 1947 to William and Katherine (nee Ogrodnick) Koropchuk at the Yorkton Union Hospital. He started his education in Jedburgh until grade 10, then completed his grade 11 and 12^th year at Ituna School. After completing high school he continued farming with his father, to eventually take over the family farm.

Throughout the years Ron was very active in the community. He played football, fastball, baseball, hockey and curled for many years. He served on several committees such as the sports club, recreation board and on the R.M council as councilor and reeve.

On October 7, 1972 Ron married Bev Husulak. They welcomed three children, Jamie-Lee, Kendra and Jerrett.

When Ron was able to get a break from the farm, he loved to hunt, fish, camp and spend time with his family and friends. Ron enjoyed watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders on T.V. He was a very detailed diary keeper and could tell you what the weather was like on any specific day from any previous year. He was an avid reader and also took great pride in his welding and mechanical skills. He was very organized and if you ever took a tool from his shop he would know!

Ron enjoyed socializing with his family and friends and always had great problem-solving skills that were discovered at the kitchen table into the “wee” hours of the morning.

Ron was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather who will be greatly missed. Ron now joins his son Jerrett, his parents William and Katherine, brother Ed and sister-in-law Geri, sister and brother-in-law Olga and Stan Waselenchuk, and parents in law Steve and Sophie Husulak.

Ron leaves to cherish his memory his wife Bev of 51 years; daughter Jamie-Lee and her children Ethan, Jaren and Layla; daughter Kendra and husband Aaron Hanson and their children Caysen and Braxton; sisters and brothers in law Joyce and Tony Zahaik, Delores and Amil Minken, Larry and Cheri Husulak; and beautiful aunt Sophie Kreptul, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
