Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Gloria Wright on October 30, 2020.
Gloria was born on January 26, 1924 in Saskatoon, a daughter of James and Sadie (Cunningham) Thorburn. She received her education at Elstow and Normal School in Saskation where she attained her teaching certificate. She was united in marriage to William Wright on October 23, 1948 and were blessed with seven children.
She was predeceased by her loving husband William of 48 years (1996), her daughter Claudette (2009) and sister-in-law Esta Sweatman (2020).
Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her children Gordon (Dru), Monica, Teresa (James), Janice, Corliss and Lana (Al), son-in-law Bill (Dot), grandchildren Sarah (Byron), Nicole, Matthew, Teal (Joel), Kathryn and 2 great grandchildren Jadika and Emaya. Many happy times were spent with family around her. She will be sorely missed by all of us.

Where to start? Well, Aunty Gloria was a jem. I loved her as my family and all of you did the same for us. I always made sure I visited with her when I came home and had her meet her grandbabies when I had given birth to my sons. Aunty Gloria's smile and personality always made me smile and made her shine. I will love and miss her so much. I love all of you so much too and I am sending all my love and condolences to you from my sons and me.
